oh gosh it's perfect. It's so hard finding nice pictures of these Rivieras. I once saw one in real life and fell in love with it instantly. I still remember it; matte black and kinda hotrodded though definitely not as low. Definitely a contender for most beautiful car ever made for sure.

As far as sheer aesthetics, one of the most beautiful cars GM has ever produced. I would love to have one with an LSX swap and modern components.

You can put modern components on a 455. They already start with more torque than an LS. Add this stuff and you've got an incredible combination.

for some shots of our EFI 455. Yeah, you could probably do an LS swap for cheaper, but there is something about that torque... Those old cars are heavy heavy, and nothing makes low end torque like the 455. (well except maybe a big turbo diesel)

There are a surprising number of Boattail Rivs in Norway!

I drove my dad's '70 Olds Delta 88 equipped with a 455 "Interceptor" motor for a time in college. Torque monster.

For my dream Riviera though I would want something a lot lighter up front. I'm thinking something supercharged.

We are working on the necessary pulleys and bracketry to supercharge our 455. It's going to have to be custom made and that's the challenge... Happened across a proper sized ProCharger and with the EFI it'll be a cinch to tune. You would only save around 120-150 lbs to the LS motor, IMO not worth the loss in displacement among other challenges. Relative to the mass of the car, losing 150 lb under the hood isn't that big a deal.
